Clockflux now speaks German
Themes: App feature2 min readBy David Lawrence
After French and Spanish, Clockflux has a fourth language. From today the app is available in German, on the free plan and on Pro.
It was on the work-in-progress page as "Clockflux in German", and it's now under Recently shipped.
What's new
The app now comes in English, Français, Español and Deutsch. When you switch to German, everything in the app changes with it: the tracker, the calendar, the holiday planner, the Health view, Settings, the setup wizard and the tour. The emails Clockflux sends you, such as the weekly summary and new blog posts, arrive in German too.
Dates and day names follow the language, so the calendar shows German weekday names rather than English ones, and dates are written the German way, with the day first and a full stop between the parts.
How to switch
- Open Settings.
- At the top, under Language, pick Deutsch.
The app changes straight away, with no reload. Your choice is saved with the rest of your settings, and if you're signed in it follows you to your other devices.
A few things to know
- English is still the default. Clockflux doesn't guess your language from your browser. It starts in English until you pick something else.
- This site and the pricing page speak German too. The docs, guides, tools and this blog are all in German at info.clockflux.app/de (opens in a new tab), and the Pro pricing and checkout pages at account.clockflux.app/de (opens in a new tab). Where the French guides quote French law and the Spanish ones quote Spain's Estatuto de los Trabajadores, the German ones quote the Arbeitszeitgesetz and the Bundesurlaubsgesetz instead.
- It's free. Language isn't a Pro feature. Every plan gets it.
What's next
If there's another language you'd like to see, or a German translation that reads oddly, we'd like to hear about it. The Getting started guide has the steps above if you need them again.
