Clockflux now speaks French
Themes: App feature2 min readBy David Lawrence
If French is the language you think in, reading your hours in English is a small bit of friction every single day. From today you don't have to: Clockflux is available in French, on the free plan and on Pro.
It was on the work-in-progress page as "Clockflux in your language", and French is the first language we've added.
What's new
The app now comes in two languages, English and Français. When you switch, everything in the app changes with it: the tracker, the calendar, the holiday planner, the Health view, Settings, the setup wizard and the tour.
Dates and day names follow the language too, so the calendar shows "lun." rather than "Mon". If your browser is set to a regional variety of the same language, Clockflux keeps that region's formatting. Someone in Switzerland or Quebec gets their own French date style, and in English someone in the UK still sees "8 Jan" rather than "Jan 8".
How to switch
- Open Settings.
- At the top, under Language, pick Français.
That's it. The app changes straight away, with no reload. Each option is written in its own language, so if you ever land on a language you can't read, you can still find yours.
Your choice is saved with the rest of your settings, so it's still there the next time you open the app.
A few things to know
- English is still the default. Clockflux doesn't guess your language from your browser. It starts in English until you pick something else, so nobody gets switched without asking.
- This site speaks French too. The docs, guides, tools and this blog are also in French. Switch language at the top of any page, or go straight to info.clockflux.app/fr (opens in a new tab).
- It's free. Language isn't a Pro feature. Every plan gets it.
What's next
French is the first, and the work-in-progress page is where we'll say when another language is on the way. If there's one you'd like to see, or a French translation that reads oddly, we'd like to hear about it.
The Getting started guide has the same steps if you need them again.
