Time card calculator
Enter when you started and finished each day, and any unpaid break. Night shifts that end after midnight work too.
How to calculate hours worked
For each day, take your start time away from your finish time, then take off any unpaid break. 9:00 to 17:30 is 8 hours 30 minutes; with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, that is 8 hours worked. Add the days together for the week, in hours and minutes (7:45 + 8:20 is 16:05, not 15:65), or convert each day to decimal hours first.
Only unpaid breaks come off. A paid break, such as a contractual coffee break, is working time, so leave it in. If a shift ends after midnight, the calculator counts the finish as the next morning: 22:00 to 6:00 is 8 hours.
From hours to pay and overtime
Multiply the decimal total by your hourly rate for your pay before tax. To see how the week compares with your contracted hours, with days off taken into account, use the overtime calculator; for the method, see how to calculate overtime.
Stop adding it up by hand
A time card filled in on Friday from memory is rarely right. Clockflux records your start and finish as they happen, with one tap, times your breaks, and keeps the daily and weekly totals for you. See how to track your work hours.
